Local Animal Shelters
Many animal shelters were affected by the flood and are in need of supplies or temporary homes for found pets. Please contact the animal shelters below for specific supplies or services needed. Common items requested include leashes, dog and cat food, storage containers, food dishes, pet crates, and fans to help cool down overheated animals.
Companion Animal Alliance in Baton Rouge has a Facebook page for both evacuated and found pets and pictures for each. If you are missing or have found a pet, please upload the animal’s picture for assistance in finding your pet or getting the pet back to their owners.
